My Future Timeline

By sfeseha
  • Take the SAT

SAT scores play a large role in college admissions, and scoring high on it is necessary for me to be able to enter the college I choose.
  • Finish Junior Year

The end of my junior year will be significant in that there is only one year left of high school for me, so I must maintain a high academic standard.
  • Get an Internship

During the summer, I hope to get work experience in areas I am interested in by attending an internship program related to my future major and career path.
  • Learn to Drive

Driving is an important step in gradually becoming more independent, and I will need to be able to transport myself when I get a job and go to college.
  • Apply to Colleges

In fall and spring, I will have to submit applications summarizing all of my high school achievements, which is a large step in deciding my academic future.
  • Graduate from High School

This event will mark the end of my high school experience, and signify a transition to independent life.
  • Enter College

In the fall of 2022, I will begin attending whichever university I have been admitted to, which is a major future event for me.
  • Get a Job

I will most likely begin work if my schoolwork permits me, and in the meantime gain valuable experience on managing my finances and life while actively holding a job.
  • Open a Bank Account/Credit Card

As an adult, I will need to be able to make financial decisions, which includes establishing credit history for future transactions and loans.
  • Retain Contact With Family

During my first few years in college, I will likely still desire support from my parents, who I will regularly visit or otherwise contact for advice and to visit.
  • Begin Searching for a New Job

I will likely have some more specific experience in the field I wish to get a job in, and will thus need to consider a more extensive position to apply for when I graduate.
  • Travel

In the midst of my college education, such as during the summer months, I will likely take a trip somewhere to refresh my mind and experience new things without drawing away from my education too much.
  • Graduate from College

By now or next year, I will have left college with a bachelor's degree, though I will likely return for graduate studies to be able to secure a higher-paying job.
  • Get a Car

A car and the responsibilities it brings play a major part in functioning autonomously, and I will need one to transport myself to work, school, and other locations.
  • Begin Paying Off Debts

By this time, my student debts will likely have accumulated to a significant amount, so I will need to begin devoting more attentiveness to them so they do not get out of control.
