    CYO Sports
Growing up, I played baseball, soccer, and basketball with my cousins in the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO). o For the first several years of my athletic career I participated as a non-starter, receiving little playing time.
o My coaches noticed the potential in me, but knew I would need to put in some effort to improve.
o Stubbornly, I wanted to do things my way and did not care too much for the fundamentals.
  • My Turning Point

    My Turning Point
One day, at the age of 9, I broke down crying to my father, stating, “Why am I no good at basketball? I just want to be good.” o He expressed to me that it would require hard work, dedication, and sacrifice to better myself as an athlete.
o Willing to do whatever it would take, we started practicing the fundamentals on a daily basis for several months.
  • Moving On Up

    Moving On Up
The following season I went from being a non-starter to a starter who majorly contributed to the team’s success. o Through this, I learned the valuable lesson that hard work does pay off.
o From that point on I have always wanted to be my best. Accordingly, people know me as a hard worker in everything that I undertake.
