French Society Divided
Everyone in France was didvided into Estates. Also could be known as classes. The first class was made up of the royal familes, the second class was made up of the clergy and the third class was everybody else in France. Their was sort of and upper class to the third class which consisted of lawyers and doctors called the Borguiese. -
Estates Generals
The 3rd Estate prepared a list of grievances and they elected men also from the 3rd estate, only property owners. This was held at Versailles. When they went back their hall doors were locked so they all agreed upon that they'd become the National Assembly instead of the 3rd estate, and that they would keep meeting until all their issues were fixed -
The Fall of The Bastille
When the National Assembly was meeting in Versailles, rumors start to spread that -
Threats from Abroad
Queen Marie antoinette has royal family in Austria. They tried to escape to Austria to then rule there. As they approached close to the border The King and Queen were recognized and brought back to France -
Civil War
The newly elected lagislative Assemblt took office. They decided on electing leaders instead of a monarchy -
Monarchy is abolished
much of the 3rd estate attacked and killed all of the king's guards. After the radicals took control of the national Assembly. There they agreed that the right to vote was extended to ll men but still excluded women. -
Monarchy is Abolished pt. 2
The queen and the kin were beheaded.
