Everyone in France was didvided into Estates. Also could be known as classes. The first class was made up of the royal familes, the second class was made up of the clergy and the third class was everybody else in France. Their was sort of and upper class to the third class which consisted of lawyers and doctors called the Borguiese.

The 3rd Estate prepared a list of grievances and they elected men also from the 3rd estate, only property owners. This was held at Versailles. When they went back their hall doors were locked so they all agreed upon that they'd become the National Assembly instead of the 3rd estate, and that they would keep meeting until all their issues were fixed
