    On July 14, 1789, a mob of angry French men attacked and overtook the Bastille, a massive prison that was a sign of the French monarchy. They did this to get weapons and was the start of the French Revolution.

    On January 1, 1793, King Louis XVI was executed by guillotine at the Place de la Révolution. Nine months later his wife Marie Antoinette in the same way. This events showed that anyone could be executed.
