  • Tennis Court Oath

    Tennis Court Oath
    The occured when the king orders the meeting hall of the third estate, or the National Assembly to close. To protect themselves the third estate adopted an oath to read that they would stay together until a constitution was formed. This was a succesful protest. This document basicall ment the people didn't have a king they ran themselves as a group.
  • Fall of Bastille

    Fall of Bastille
    This was a symbol of cruel and arbitrary power. Basically, because of the dismissal of Necker and the price of grain, the "artisans/ journeyman" set out to protect themselves from feared attacks with weapons. They went to Bastille. This ended by 100 deaths and the fall of Bastille.

    This event during the French Revolution had lasted up until August. During this time peasants feared the revenge from the nobles. Due to this peasants formed riots all throughout France.

  • The Declaration of the Rights of Man

    The Declaration of the Rights of Man
    This Declaration was created due to the inspiration of the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights. This was created in the form of the first ten Amendments to the American Constitution. This was later to be passed on September 25, 1789
  • Women March on Versailles

    Women March on Versailles
    This event lasted for two days. Women had marched to Versailles and forced the royal family all the way back to Paris. The main purpose of this march was to get bread and force the price of bread to go back down

    The National Assembly created this to provide appointment to church officers. A Gallican Church was also established

    This covered throughout 5 days. King Louis XVI, Marie- Antoinette, and their kids were arrested attempting for escape. The king's authority was suspended. Louis, still loved by some, begins to be thought of by many as a traitor, becoming a major turning point in the Revolution.

    This had the rulers of Austria and Prussia to agree to halt the Revolution, but they had insisted that England gets involved.

    About 40,000 deaths, about 15% nobles&clergy, 15% middled-class and the rest were peasants. The guillotine was an extremly critical weapon during this time.

    Because of this new Republic due to election, KIng Louis XVI was put to trial for crimes against the citizens. He was sentenced to death by getting his head chopped off.

    The rights and duties of man and citizen. Voting is only allowed to those who pay indirect taxes. It provides a council of 500, which creates laws and a council of elders that consists of 250 members. These members accepts or rejects the proposed laws.

    This continues until November 10, 1799. This is basically what is created after the convention, a body of directors.

    After attacks and threats of accusation from two councils, two of the members of the directory resign and Napoleon becomes a consulate.

    This was an agreement between Napoleon and Pope Pius VII in which the Roman Catholic Church was reestablished.

    During this date, Napoleon becomes king of France. The crown was the crown of the Pope's which he called "The Crown of Charlemagne"

    British Royal Navy vs. The French and Spanish Navy. The British were victorious during this battle. This battle was faught during one of the Napoleonic Wars.

    This was considered to be Napoleons greatest victory as the French Empire had defeated the 3rd Coalition.
  • Invasion of Spain

    Many of the French had brought themselves over to Spain. They were allowed to come over because there was a supposed alliance until it had been revealed that they really wanted to take over Spain.

    This invasion over to Russia was a major turning point in this war. The French, along with the allies were hurt. The minor battles throughout this invasion were won by the French but the major battles belonged to the Russians.

    France was invaded by the Coalition and Napoleon to go to the island named Elba. He had left Elba and set out to return.

    This was a meeting to discuss and resolve the problems throughout the revolution, the wars and the Holy Roman Empire.

    A Hundred Days
    After 100 days Napoleon had returned from being exiled to Elba. At this point, Napoleon gained his rule back not so long after.

    As a result of this battle, Napoleon had faught in his last battle and had been defeated along with his title of being an emperor.
