After the 7 years war and American Revolution, France racked up quite a debt. The middle class was hid hard by the issue. The nobles seemed unconcerned and unchanged by this issue.
This is important because the middle class began to see just how unfair life was for them.

The mark of a new age swung into full motion with the exile of the queen and king. The royal family was forced to leave France after the bread riots, where people broke into the palace. The mess that the king and queen left behind was very large.
This event was important because in began Frances new government and power system.

The Parisian women became outraged at bread prices. Brandishing weapons, they rioted in the streets and toward Versailles. They broke into the palace, killing guards and demanding the king and queen return to Paris.
The riots by these women showed just how powerless the king and queen were. The people had power and louis would have to obey them.

Going along with the bread riots, the great fear swept through France. the common folk became scared and angry, attacking noble's manors and property. The fear eventually led to the bread riots.
This was important to the revolution because it brought farmers and country folk into the mix of chaos.

Quickly after the royal exile, the national assembly made a statement. All people were to have freedoms including religion, speech, liberty, and more. The statement helped secure a more democratic government.
This was a very important process in the French revolution because it helped to build from the dust left behind. The monarchy was gone and this helped take its place.

After a long debate the third estate voted to create the National assembly. The assembly brought France farther from a monarchy by allowing other peoples opinions to be valued. The assembly created a shift in power and allowed Louis to see his peoples anger.
This establishment was extremely consequential to the creation of the rebellion and was the first move forward.

Another revolutionary step forward was storming the bastille. A mob attacked the bastille in search of supplies like gunpowder. The mob attacked guards and others, eventually overthrowing the place. They paraded outside with the corpses of the people killed.
This movement was a key part of the revolution because it showed the power and determination of the people.

After a while, Louis XVI decided to try escaping to the Netherlands. While nearing the border he was caught and returned to France. There, he awaited he impending death.

Many surrounding countries feared France as a democracy and wanted Louis back on the throne. They began a war with France and caused many issues. France had to reform their government and start forcing people to join the war.
This war caused the change in government from the National assembly. This change was very important in the war and country.

The guillotine became a staple of France because of it's use in public executions. France adopted the weapon during the war and used it many times. Eventually Louis XVI was beheaded by the guillotine.
This execution marked the completion of the revolution. The king was gone and something new was born.
