Causes of the French revolutiom
France went bankrupt, and they had fought and spent a lot of money fighting against Engand. their were food shortages, all food was going to the King. People became angry with this. -
National Assembly was created
National Assembly members take Tennis Court Oath, pledging to create new constitution. This opposition forced King Louis XVI to agree to the calling of the States-General. -
Tennis Court Oath
The Tennis Court Oath was a result of the third estate. people held meetings to discuss voyes by the head of the estate. they were forced out and held their meetings in a nearby indoor tennis court. -
Attack on the bastille

Declaration of the Rights of Man
The D.R.M gave a summary od ideas of the revolution. This justified absolutism, and establishment of new regime. It has been reffered to in almost every single revolutionary movement since 1789. -
The Bread March
Thousands of women marched from Paris marched the 12 miles to Versailles. The women were well armed wt=ith many objects such as; lances, pitchforks, swords, and pistoles. The Royal Escape
The revolution had eeen going fortwo years by this point, and the royal family had been put under house arrest, in their palace. The king was being forced to sign law after law, whichwas draining his power. The king and his wife, left one night to flee to Austria in their royal carriage, they made it safley to the border, but were spotted and broughtback to Paris.

King Louis' death

Food Riot in Paris

Committee of Public Safety Established
The Committee of Public Safety was created by the National Convention in 1793. Reign of Terror
