  • Summoning of the States-General

    In France under the Old Regime, the States-General was a legislative assembly of the different classes. They were the classes that were taxed, and had the least amount of money. They were pinned by rule of upper classes, and generally started French Revolution.
  • Tennis Court Oath

    The Tennis Court Oath (French: Serment du jeu de paume) was a pivotal event during the first days of the French Revolution. The Oath was a pledge signed by 576 of the 577 members from the Third Estate who were locked out of a meeting of the Estates-General on 20 June 1789. They made a makeshift conference room inside a tennis court located in the Saint-Louis district of Versailles.
  • Flight to Varennes of the royal family

    a significant episode in the French Revolution during which King Louis XVI of France, his wife Marie Antoinette, and their immediate family attempted unsuccessfully to escape from Paris in order to initiate a counter-revolution. Their destination was the fortress at Montmédy in northeastern France, a Royalist stronghold from which the king hoped to start a military campaign which would restore his rule. This was important because it showed france how cowardly king louis xvi was.
  • Champ-de-Mars massacre

    On that day, the National Constituent Assembly issued a decree that the king, Louis XVI, would remain king under a constitutional monarchy. Later that day, leaders of the republicans in France rallied against this decision. Louis last chance, blown because people realized that once you know power you cant go back.
  • Declaration of Pillnitz

    Holy Roman Emperor Leopold II and Frederick William II of Prussia. Declared the joint support of the Holy Roman Empire and of Prussia for King Louis XVI of France against the French Revolution. Encouraged people to make numbers bigger and bring the fight to him.
  • French declare war against Austria

    The french needed to start a war against austria because they were defending a tyrant. Supporting king louis was not acceptable, tyrants should never be able to rule.
  • Storming of the Tuileries Palace. Louis XVI of France is arrested and taken into custody

    The peoples of the french revolution raided and stormed the palace of tuileries. Leaving a massive amount of blood shed, and death. Around the same time louis xvi was arrested and taken into custody. After a short time found guilty and sentenced to death by guillotine. The french revolutionaries were finanlly starting to win!
  • -7 The September Massacres

    a wave of mob violence which overtook Paris in late summer 1792, during the French Revolution. By the time it had subsided, half the prison population of Paris had been executed: some 1,200 trapped prisoners, including many women and young boys. Sporadic violence, in particular against the Roman Catholic Church, would continue throughout France for nearly a decade to come. This was one of the final acts that led people into freeing themselves from tyrants rule once and for all
  • National Convention meets; Abolition of the monarchy

    This meeting was about the final abolishment of all unfair monarchies. This was one of the final acts before they finally excuted king louis XVI, and made a democratic.
  • Excution of king louis XVI

    King louis xvi excuted infront of crowd. The excution was treated as though it was the end of the revolution, by the french peoples. Howeve, it was not.
  • Execution of Marie Antoinette

    In October, she was tried by a mock trial, as was her husband. Marie Antoinette was convicted of treason and sentenced to be guillotined. On October 16, 1793 she was taken through the streets of Paris in an open cart. She maintained her dignity until the bitter end. The people of france hated her and her austrian blood, they though she spent to much and was rude. It was big up turn for the french revolution
  • Robespierre was beheaded.

    Robespierre was arrested the prevous today and found guilty. Ro went too far with his revolutionary ideas. He killed thousands of people, because they still believed in the monarchial system Maximilien Robespierre was so against monarchies that he killed everybody that thought differently than him. He was the creator of the reign of terror and was eventually sent to the guillotine himself .
  • A new Constitution was adopted.

    At the end of the french revolution, a new system was put in place in france. In-stead of being a complete monarch, france turned into a republic. As to support all of the people instead of just two of the three estates.
