I was born in Vietnam and am the first son of my parents. Without them, I wouldn't even exist in the first place. My parents became mother and father that would take care of me for 16 years. Just one more year before that.

He was also born in Vietnam like me. My parents get busier as they have to take care of us. I'm glad that I wasn't the only child in the family because I would be lonely. It was a very happy family.

Unlike most of the kids my age, I wasn't excited about my first day at school. Perhaps it's because my first day without my family made me sad. It was a long day.

I was a young, energetic boy and a crybaby. For the first time, I make friends in my class. I stood out because I talked a lot, play around a lot and injured myself several times. I learned that in life there's more than family.

I was in Grade 2 when my mother gave birth to my little sister. My family was even happier than before. My responsibility as a brother increased. Thanks to her and my brother, I learned that being a leader isn't easy. It was a first step to adulthood.

I won an English competition in my school. It's the first time I win in first place by myself. I never treated myself like a useless guy like before. It showed me that I can do anything if I try hard enough.

It was during the summer when my mother's friend bought her kids from Canada to Vietnam. We all spoke English and played together. It was very enjoyable. Thanks to them, I decided to study abroad at Canada, to meet them again. And here I am, writing stuffs about my past.

I arrived in Canada after spending many hours sitting in the plane. I was excited thinking about studying in here with modern technology, friendly schools and many more. Studying abroad without my parents made me a little bit sad, but it also made my feel like I have grown up a little. This is the starting point of probably the rest of my life living in Canada.

I always thought school is a very boring place. Not until I arrived at Northview Heights. I really enjoyed studying here. I changed my attitude and became more optimistic and open.

I haven't seen my family for a year. When I came back to meet them back in my country, they were very happy. So was I. Seeing my family struggling to help me continue my study, I felt convinced that I should work harder. I strengthened my resolve to become a successful adult.
