In 1492 Columbus sails to Hispaniola on an expedition financed by the Spanish. Believed this place was rich in gold. He landed here on the Santa Maria which was one of three ships that came along with it. His task was to find a route to asia and he believed he landed in India but he actually landed in the americas! -
