    This is a book that Montesquieu wrote that gave the idea of seperation of powers. He said that there should not be one person with all the powers. His ideas also made checks and balances, a stystem that is used in the goverment today.

He made a deal with the pope, saying that the pope could become the spiritual leader of France if Napoleon could be the emporor. When the pope was going to place the crown on his head, Napoleon took the crown from him and placed it on his own head.

    Higdalgo was a preist in Dolores. He was the first person to call for independence by riging the church bells to have a meeting about rebelling.

    Napoleon waited to attack the british until the ground dried up. When he was finally ready to attack, with his horses, the prussians had arrived to fight on the British side. With two forces against one Napoloen was defeated. The British then sent him to St. Helena, an isolated island, where he later died.
