    First day of school
I was so excited to go to school. I'm the baby of the family so I got to see my siblings go to school, which I was very jealous of. My kindergarten teacher was Mrs. Kober and one of my favourite things to do at school was to paint.
  • Field Trip

    Field Trip
I was in a 4/5 split and we went to Innisfail Historical Village for a field trip. The one thing I valued from being a part of a split class is interacting and collaborating with a different grade.
  • Awards Night.

Awards Night. In grade six I got an award for the most improved student. In the beginning of the school year, I struggled with reading comprehension and writing skills. I was tutored for the year and something just "clicked" for me and I started enjoying reading and writing.
  • 4-H

    4-H
Throughout school, I participated in 4-H at Kneehill Valley. 4-H gave me the opportunity to focus on my personal growth as a young adolescent age. Also, 4-H provided a number of opportunities in areas such as communication, leadership, career development and computer technology.
  • Graduation at Trochu Valley School

    Graduation at Trochu Valley School
In my grad class there was only thirty-four of us and our class was considered to be one of the biggest classes from TroVal. At our grad ceremony, I was one of the MCs, which I loved because in 4-H I had many opportunities of public speaking. Graduation was one of my proudest moments. Celebrating a milestone with friends I've known since grade one and family who have supported me throughout the years.
  • Dance Instructor

    Dance Instructor
Teaching dance has given me many years of experience interacting with a large age range of students from different backgrounds. My goal as a dance teacher is to provide opportunities for my students to become more confident and to express themselves freely.
  • Disneyland !!!

    Disneyland !!!
I fortunately got to take a group of dancers to perform in Disneyland twice! I was one of the coordinators on the fundraising committee and co-director for their performance. I supervised thirty-five dancers, rehearsed them, took them backstage and attained workshops.
  • Europe

    Europe
Yay! I finally saved up enough money to go to Europe! I got to travel to twenty-two countries. It was insane! I've learned so much about myself and where I wanted my life to head. Traveling gets you out of your comfort zone, builds confidence, helps develop cultural sensitivity and gives infinite opportunities to network. You eat great food and meet amazing people.
  • 1st year at Red Deer College

I remember driving into RDC parking lot and being so nervous to go to my first class in college. I'm pretty sure I showed up an hour and half before the class started. I knew after my first year I wanted to be accepted into the Middle Years Program. The classes I enjoyed was Family Studies, Art History, KPED and Sociology.
  • Middle Years Program

    Middle Years Program
What can I say about the Middle Years Program. Being a part of this cohort, full of inspiring individuals, I've been given opportunities to work and learn from them. In each course I tried to step out of my comfort zone and pushed myself to become the best version of myself. During my learning process I was surrounded with friends and instructors who were supportive.
  • Practicum at Fox Run Middle School

Practicum at Fox Run Middle School
Standing in front of 56 students can be very intimidating, however, the support team I had with my mentor teacher made all those nerves fade away and I can continue doing what I enjoy most- teaching kids. I learned that a teacher needs to set expectations for the students and themselves, to prepare them for any behavioral situation. There are even situations that no matter how much preparing a teacher does or how much experience they have, a student’s behavior can shock you.
  • Project Based Learning

    Project Based Learning
Our PBL was themes inspiring Canadian Scientist that changed the world. I learned how PBL helps students develop skills for living in a knowledge-based, technological society. I got to work in an awesome team and had so much fun.
  • Showcase of Learning

    Showcase of Learning
I displayed my service learning project, Am I beautiful, UbD and PBL

    Diversity Run

Words cannot express how excited I will be when I graduate from RDC and beginning a new chapter of my life.
