  • Homestead Act

    Homestead Act
Homestead Act was an act that let people have free land in the west if they traveled over there and that made more people want to go out and get the free land. Since of this act it will be easier to sell my merchandise down their to the farmers who need it.
  • Hard life in Romania

    Hard life in Romania
A law prevented the people make enough money for themselves in farming their land because they didn't have enough land so that meant fewer farmers had enough money to buy my merchandise so which made it harder for me to live in Romania.

  • Dual Monarchy

    Dual Monarchy
A new Government was established between Hungary and Romaania to make a dual monarchy and because of this they tried to get rid of our freedom in schools, civil service, and our society. They tried to change our religion to. They keep on going trying to change us even though we don't want to.
  • Voyage to America

    Voyage to America
Because of what is happening to my country I can no longer stay in Romania, I must leave to go to America where hopefully I can start up a better business in America with all of the farmers. On the way to America I had to go in steerage so I could save money for the Hardships ahead.
  • Long ride

    Long ride
It has been week on this steam boat and it is overcroaded. There are probably even stowaways on board which makes it even more crowded. Since I am in steerage I do not get the luxury the wealthy people do so I am not feeling that well probably because I am sea sick for being on a boat for a week.
  • America

    America
When i arrived it took me a couple days to get into America but once I got in I found a job in New York and planning in the next year or two to leave to the West to start up my merchant business with the farmers down there once I have enough money.
  • Moving West

    Moving West
I have started on my voyage to the west but it will be a hard voyage. I have made enough money to get enough supplies and food to start up a business in the West, and for the traveling.
  • Problems traveling

    Problems traveling
I almost got stranded when my wagon broke a wheel but luckily I met up with more travelers and went with them leaving some of my personal stuff behind.
  • Made it

    Made it
I have just made it to the West in a new town where there are lots of farmers. I think This will be a successful business with what all these farmers need.
  • Everything turned out ok

    Everything turned out ok
My business has been profitable I have away bigger house and land than I ever had in Romania. I am not pestered about my own religion and the government is a lot better down in America so I am glad I made this voyage since without it I would have probably been miserable and living on the streets in Romania.
