I started watching T.V since I was a toddler. This technology greatly impacted me because it was the first source of entertainment that I recognised as technology. i didn't only use it as entertainment, but over time I have also learnt a lot of what I know through it. -
Nintendo 64
This was my favourite thing about my childhood. My siblings used to play it all the time and when I was old enough they allowed me to play. This technology impacted me greatly because it didn't only give me great childhood memories, but it taught me hand coordination as I learnt to use the controls. -
Tamagotchi
This was a very interesting technology that entered my childhood because it taught me a lot about life. It taught me responsibility and what it is like to look after something apart from myself. This wasn't just a toy to me but it was something I used as part of my every day life. -
Computer
The computer is when a lot changed. I went from playing the nintendo or outside to playing games on the computer. The greatest impact it had on me is Microsoft Word. I always loved to write so began typing all my stories on the computer and it taught me a lot about spelling and grammar and how to used different computer tools. -
Camera
This was a great piece of technology because it allowed me to capture the best moments of my life. I was able to take photos of anything I wanted and I can still look back at them all now as they aren't only printed photos but also on my USB stick. -
Radio/CDplayer
The radio always played in the car when my mum drove but it wasn't until was about 10 that i got my own player. I took it everywhere with me. It was a technology that impacted me greatly because I grew to love music because of it. -
Calculator
The first time I ever used a calculator didn't impact on me because I only used it as a toy. When it did impact on me though was when I first used it in high school for maths, It taught me a lot about maths and that there were easier and quicker ways to do sums. -
Portable DVD player
When I was younger we used to take a lot of family road trips. Being in the car so often used to have me bored and irritated. This device was good because it kept me entertained on the road trips which is why it impacted so greatly on my life. -
Nokia Mobile phone
My first phone was at the age of 13. This technology was the greatest impact on my life because it is something that I still use today. It was when I first learnt to type messages, make phone calls and most importantly use the internet on a device other than the computer. -
Ipod
This was an exciting technology for a lot of people. It was used buy many kids and adults and I was a lucky child who got one. It impacted greatly on my life because I love music and the fact that I didn't have to buy CD's anymore was great. -
Iphone
This was the best device of my childhood. It was my first ever smartphone and the first piece of technology that allowed me to do everything. I could use it as a phone, iPod, game and lots more which was very exciting and handy. -
Laptop
My first laptop wasn't until i went to university. This was so exciting for me because I didn't have to be home to use the computer. This technology impacted greatly on my life because it is the main thing that I used at university to do all my work -
USB stick
This was a piece of technology that was perfect for my education. Saving all my work on my laptop wasn't safe so having an external memory port was very handy and kept all my work safe which is why it impacted me greatly. -
Foxtel box
This was the best piece of technology I could have gotten in my teen years. I was able to watch Foxtel in my room at any time of the day. It also allowed me to record and watch later shows I had missed out on. This had me not missing out on my favourite shows which was really enjoyable -
Smart watch
Over the years technology got stronger and better and it was happening within a blink of an eye, The smart watch for me made me see this. A device as simple as a watched turned into an incredible piece of technology. It could be used as a mobile phone and I saw that as an amazing creation. -
Baby monitor
This had a huge impact on my life for obvious reason. Being a first time mum I was always worried to leave my baby asleep in another room. With the baby monitor I am able to see him constantly and hear him of he cries. This allows me to put him down for naps and do what I have to do around the house which is great!
