The day after Israel declared their independence, Israel was attacked by Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Transjordan and Iraq. Their was a massive refugee problem after the war.

Many Palestinian Arabs lived under Israeli control. Israel was taking control over the Palestinian area and it rose tension again.

Israeli troops left Gaza and turned it over to the Palestinians in 2005. Hamas won control over Palestine and their was tension because he was viewed as a terrorist.
