    Egypt demanded UN forces to remove its troops so they can close off the Gulf of Aqaba ( Israels routes to the Red Sea). expecting war, Israel attacked first by launching strikes against Egypt, Syria and Jordan. Israel troops moved in after and defeated Arab forces.

    Yom Kippur war
    A surprise attack against Israel. Arab forces attacked Israel and made gains. Israel not ready for attack called in for U.S. support which soon resulted in a cease fire.

    Israel invades southern Lebanon, A PLO attack on a bus in Israel prompted its forces to move into Lebanon to push the PLO militants back from the border . In 1981 Israel bombed PLO headquarters which led to a U.S. broken cease fire between Israel and the PLO and Syria.
