Six Day War

On this day Is israel decided to attack egpyt which sparked the 'six day war'. The reason for israel attacking egypt was because Egypt began to close off Israel route to the red sea, the Gulf of Aqaba.

Yom Kippur War

Mar 6, 1973

This war started because Egypt and Syria wanted their territory's back that Israel took during the Six Day War. The terriotory's were Goland Heights,Sinai Peninsula Gaza Strip, West Bank, and East Jurusalem. When Egypt and Syria attacked Israel they did make progress but the U.S intervened and pushed them back

Camp David Accords.

Sep 17, 1978

Camp David is a presidential retreat in Maryland so the United States President can have his days off. On this day President Jimmy Carter invited President Sadet and Prime Minister Menachem Begin over to this retreat for a meeting. The result for this meeting was a peace treaty betweern Egypt and Israel.

Iranian Revolution

This started because people disagreed with their leader's "the Shah's" ideals, he belived that Iran should embrace western way's of living and belifes. The reason people took action was because of a man named Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomoneini he thought the exact oppisite of the shah and people agreed with him.

Intifada

Dec 8, 1987

The Intifada was a rebllion mainly made up of the Palestinian Youth. The reason this rebellion took place was because of the resentment of the Israel Occupation. This caused widespread street violence againist the israeli police.
