Subway Hero
This was one of the very first days of disscussing heroes in class. I learned about the spurt of the moment action taking hero on this day, and how a hero can make an impact on a community. -
Heroic Free Write and Roy Benavidez
One this day in class we heard the story of the war hero Roy Benavidez and did a free write, answering some questions, on heroes. This was probably the first day that I began to think of how there are many different types of heroes. -
Interview: Kristi Quillen, Peace Corps volunteer
This day in class we watched an interview of Kristi Quillen and I learned about a hero that devotes their life to their heroism, adding to my knowledge of different kinds of heroes. -

This is the day that I choose to read about Coco Chanel. -
Discussion on Different Types of Heroes
On this day in class we listed out heroes and determined what type they were. I realized that all types share one common goal and that is to change the world in some way. I also noticed that alot of heroes share common characteristics like selflessness. -
Begining of Hero Powerpoint
In class we watched a video called badly drawn boy and a john mayer music video. I began to think about the ways that hero's take the initiative to make a change in the world. -
Secong day of Hero Powerpoint
In class we watched two videos that included the song "We are the Youth of Today" in them. The videos made me begin to think of the ways that the youth in the world can make a difference, and I thought about how the adults feel about our ability to make a difference. I also thought about the the ways that the youth can be better prepared and informed in order to help the world. -

This was the day that my heroes in Literature post was due, which got me thinking about the heroes in the various literature i have read and what kind each is. -

In class i shared a passage from my book that explained how Chanel got the nickname Coco.
