Oh no! The potato famine has put me and all of my other race at an big disadvantage, by ruining our crops and making us go hungry. There is no way I can live in Ireland any longer with this going on!

Moving to America, and push/pull factors

My name is Clooney Conan, and I'm an Irish Immigrant who is moving to America. Two pull factors that pulled me to America is because of the vast amounts of land they are giving away and the religous freedom.

New Opportunity

I kind of feel like coming to America to start out fresh. Maybe I don't want to live in Ireland my whole life, but I want to go somewhere new, do new things, meet new people. I don't have to mine or box or farm, I just want a new experience.

Land

This lured me the most to America because that's what I wanted. Land. I wanted to start growing my own crops. Now I can if I move to the west of America.

Railroads

Railroads! I heard there were many railroads needed to be worked on in the west of America. I would be guarenteed a job that pays and a place to sleep and eat. As long as I am able to work, this would be a great opportunity.
