    The birth of Jesus Christ is a very important day for the church. As he is our lord and saviour. The light that is shone upon us. Jesus is part of the main reason on why there is Christians in the world. Hence why we are called christians. Because we believe in Jesus Christ.

    Edict of Milan
    Gave Christians freedom and rights. They finally had a voice to speak out to the world. This is the first time that Christianity became an actual religion and recognised by others outside the Christian community.

    This council asked many questions about the religion of christians. Basically we made the christian religion more defined on what it is.

    Great Schism

    Great Schism
    This is the great schism that ended up making the two churches. Eastern Orthodox and the Catholic Church. There was many differences and disputes even before the schism. So without anything that actually heal the situation, it ended up with the greatest schism.

    Five popes fought for supremacy. This went on for forty years and the medieval church did not know which authority to go under.

    Martin Luther

    Luther born on the 10th of November 1483. He became a monk and tried to find enlightenment in his religion. In 1517 he wrote up a thesis on protesting about the sales of Indulgences. Luther refused on taking down his thesis that he made. 3 years passed and he had many people supporting him now.

    The ninety-five Thesis
    The ninety-five thesis was made by Martin Luther who wrote up ninety five things that is wrong about the catholic church. It was sent to one of the bishops, but Luther kept copies in his office. After a while his students found the copies and posted it on a church door in support of Martin Luther's thesis.

    Schism of the church
    After the event of Martin Luther posting the thesis on the door of the church. Many people supported Luther and due to Luther being excommunicated, all that supported him left the church and went with him. Others that left made different churches and the catholic church was losing more and more members.

    The council of trent fixed many things about the church. The fixed the issues of corrupt priests and corrupted practices.

    This meeting changed the whole thing about the church. For example before this meeting the whole church service was said in Latin. Now it is spoken in any language. It fixed many of the major problems that distanced other people from us christians, but now it is more open to accept new people to become christians.
