    TIMELINE

  • PRESCHOOL

Started preschool and had to start playing with other kids my age. Was attached to mother and had a difficult time letting go. Teachers helped me out so much. Still keep intouch with them today.
  • CAMP

Went to camp for the first time without family. Was there for a month and started forming bonds with not only my fellow campers but also the people who worked there because of my level of being homesick and being away for the first time
  • MIDDLE SCHOOL

Started at a new school, meet new children and branch out from my old friends in order to meet new ones. Mom and Dad helped me a lot with finding what I was intersted in for after school activites
  • HIGH SCHOOL

Went to high school. Met a teacher who helped me with EVERYTHING. Learning disabilites were really difficult for me and caused me to have to work much harder than I thought I would. Parents were very supportive of getting me the proper help so I could do the best possible.
  • SISTER GOES TO COLLEGE

Big change in my house. My sister moved to Vermont for college and parents started to focus more on me and see where I could get in and where I was really interested in going.
  • LICENSE

Got my license and gave me much more freedom than I had before. Parents trusted me more and I felt like I was becoming an individual without their help
  • FIRST JOB

Got my first job at a clothing store. Parents expected me to work and pay for my own things. Taught me responsiblity early and made me independent. Learned how to spend money in a better and more careful way
  • COLLEGE ACCEPTANCE

I got my first college acceptance from West Virginia University. Although it was not my first choice it was exciting knowing I had choices. Parents very proud!
  • GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL

Graduated from high school with my whole family there to see. Had a lot of support from family and friends
  • COLLEGE

Moved across the country from Maryland to Arizona, not knowing a single person here and started my college career. Parents came with me to move me in and help me get comfortable. They support me working hard and getting a degree in education
