I was born in Markham Stouffville Hospital as a healthy, 6 pound baby. This day marks the start of my life.

    A Timeline of My Life

  • First Day of School

    First Day of School
This was my first day of Junior Kindergarten. I walked in the first day, confident, ready to learn, and wanting to have fun. I eyed the block building station, and practically pushed my mom out the door telling her I couldn't have fun while she was still there. This marked the start of my educational journey.
  • Trip to California

    Trip to California
I went on a one month family vacation over the summer to celebrate my sister's birthday, which is in July, and mine, which is in August. We also went to visit my aunt from my dad's side, who lives in San Francisco, California. We visited the west coast, including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Diego, and San Francisco. Within those places, we went to different casinos, the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, and of course, Disneyland. It was the first time that I ever left Canada, as well as the only.
  • Got a Pet Hamster

    Got a Pet Hamster
I convinced my mom to buy my sister and I a pet hamster from Dougan's, a pet store. We had a choice of hamsters of all colours and sizes, but the one that stood out to us was a grey Djungarian dwarf hamster with a black stripe down its back and small, bright, black eyes, which we decided to name Hammy. It was my first non-aquatic pet, and it taught me how to care for a living creature as well as to be responsible, as I had to remember to feed it, refill its water bottle, and clean its cage.
  • Trip to Kearney and S.O.E.S.

    Trip to Kearney and S.O.E.S.
This was the first time I was ever away from home overnight. I hadn't been to a sleepover before yet, so this was something that was different to me, especially since we were gone for 4 nights and 5 days. There was not much technology or civilization nearby, as it was just our grade in the cabins and the lodge. It was the time in my life where I learnt to be independent and responsible, taking care of myself and watching my own things, as well as experiences new things on my own.
  • Moving to Markham and Starting Grade 8 at a New School

Moving to Markham and Starting Grade 8 at a New School
I moved from the border of Scarborough and Markham to the border of Markham and Richmond Hill. Although it wasn't a huge move, I had to overcome the challenge of balancing my new school life at Buttonville Public School as well as keeping in touch with my friends from my old school, Port Royal Public School. I had to make new friends and learn how to stop missing my friends from my old school so much.
  • Graduation Trip to Montreal

    Graduation Trip to Montreal
This was the second time I was on my own in a new place for 4 nights and 5 days, but this time, it was in a different city, not in nature. My grade went to Montreal together, and we moved with our classes. We were essentially living on our own, with much freedom in different stores, museums, streets, and shopping malls. I discovered from this trip that Montreal was a city I'd consider returning to in the future, and even possibly living in for a while if I choose to attend McGill University.
  • Starting High School

    Starting High School
This was a huge step in my life, as I left the comfort and planned educational pathway of elementary school, and entered the oppurtunity filled world of high school. Teachers gave me more freedom, and it was my responsibility to learn lessons and put in effort in order to pass. I went from being in the oldest grade in elementary school to the youngest in high school. This was the point in my life where I developed my character and became an independent individual in charge of my own life path.
