Buying a Truck

  • Work to get money.

I worked over the summer to save for a truck. I did landscaping.
  • Thinking About How to Manage My Money

I knew that I needed to tithe 10% of what I made to the church. So I always would take out 10% of my paycheck so that I could put it in the offering plate at church. I also knew that I wanted to spend some money on different things, but I knew that I needed to save most of my money.
  • Deciding On How to Manage My Money

After lots of thought on how to manage my money, I finally decided that I will take out 30% of every paycheck that I get. 10% for church and 20% for free spending. So I save 70% for a truck.
  • Buying a Truck

Once I have saved up enough money, I plan on buying a Chevy Silverado that a church member is selling. I will pay with cash because I will have saved up more than enough money to pay for it. I plan on buying it by Dec of 2018. I will continue saving money so that I can keep it maintained and full of gas. I will use it to take my sisters to school and start a small landscaping business during the school year.
  • Deciding On a Truck to Buy

I looked at several different trucks that people we know were selling. I knew that I need a truck that I can take my sisters to school in. I looked at a 2 door Ford f-150 that a church member is selling, which has a bench seat. So I could take my 2 sisters to school in that even though there wouldn't be much room. I also had my eye on a 2 door Toyota Tacoma, but the lady who was selling it gave it to her son. I also have been looking at a Chevy Silverado that has an extended cab.
