  • 7.2 Childhood Attachment Experiences

My attachment type is secre. My internal working model was developed, which was that I was to be independent and do have a lot of great relationships. I had my first sleepover at the age of five. I was never homesick. I always had my friends to rely on and for them to rely on me. I've gone to many camps where I developed new friendships, and I've always loved going out and getting new experiences. I am never fearful of new challenges.
  • 9.2 Identity

Carl Scarna did not receive any clear identity of who he was as what his father focused on the most was him being deaf and thinking that he would not be able to succeed anything. He found his own identity all by himself, based on the experience he went through to get to where he is now. He did all that without his father's help, so therefore he learned and developed his identity the hard way. Identity is not a easy thing you can develop when you have somebody thinking the opposite of you.
  • 3.2 Genetic Limits

    3.2 Genetic Limits
This procedure is for those in the age of 20s or young 30s, so the effect would start earlier. There will be a special medicine installed in the chromosomes which will help the Hayflick limit. This is to prevent the repliative sensecence, so that way, the cells will keep on dividing so everybody would be able to live longer and enter 110 and 120 years old like they were entiled to do so.
  • 11.1 Major Life Event

Outstanding Personal Achievement: I succeed in having my own event taken at Gallaudet University, "Take Back the Night." It was to display the fact that it is okay for survivors to share their stories about sexual assault and domestic violence. I recieved a lot of social support when planning the event. I knew it would be all worth it in the end, and it was. As for the aftereffect- the social support I recieved doubled up, and this was an encouragement to have more successful upcoming events.
  • 1.1 The Beginning

    1.1 The Beginning
Socially, I became an adult in December of 2008 when i was 18 years old. I went to my first backpacking trip to Costa Rica with three of my other friends. I paid for it with my own money, I arranged everything on my own. That step was a normative age-graded influence because this is the age where you are given the opportunity to increase your independence. I have traveled since I was born but now I am now 21 years old and I am traveling on my own. This is the step into adulthood.
  • 4.1 My current healthy lifestyle

    4.1 My current healthy lifestyle
I don't know how to have a sedentary lifestyle, I am always finding something to keep myself busy. In college, it can be hard to keep on eating healthy, however I know I can be creative with food and yet still eat healthy. I lessened my junk food eating habits a lot compared to last year and I feel much better about it! I am always busy every single day so that's pretty much my exercise on daily basis. I do party on weekends, but that does not affect me. I always forget to use sunscreen.
  • 7.1 Adult Attachment Style

My attachment type is secre. I am the kind of person who lets everything flow by its own. My personality is definitely not avoidant. If one thing leads to another, I let it do what it can do. Here's an example, my boyfriend and I bumped into each other at Europe, then we lived next to each other in that fall, then one thing led to another. Now we have been together for two years. It happened on its own and because I let it. I don't worry about what people think of me.
  • 10.1 Fowler

I personally am a realist, I don't believe in god, or have any faith in anything in specific. However from Fowler's stages of faith, the one most closest to me would be the conjunctive faith. I don't always move away from the fixed truth and toward a search for balance, I do accept that there are so many truths, others' beliefs, others' ideas, or whatever else that works for them not just for me. This stage displays the fact that I know others have their own ways of living and faith in life.
  • 6.1 Young Adult Role Transition

Leaving and returning home: I lived in the dorm for the last four years, but I still haven't offically moved out. I plan on doing that right after I graduate. Based on the statistics, it stated that 46% of women from 18-24 years of age lived with their parents; this is part of the social clock: it is time for me to move on. This applies to social role theory as well because I am following my sister's steps, she moved out after graduation. Higher percent of males moved out than females; not me.
  • 8.1 My RIASEC type

Realistic=5, Investigative=5, Artistic=3, Social=14, Enterprising=2, Conventional=3. Those factors are actually accurate. My highest is social. I love working with people, helping, and making things better. I disagree with the result of enterprising because I do like influencing people, leading, and I am energetic. My lowest is conventional and I agree because I do not like working with numbers nor words. My job type is psychology and that's my major. The jobs are consistent, and fits me.
  • 8.2 Supe's Stages

Establishment: As a Psychology teacher, however I would want to get a certificate as a Family and Marriage Therapist. I know I would settle down with a job by the age of 25, By then, I would already know what I want in life and how I want to approach and get my job that I desire for. This applies to social factor, my deires to help the others, working with people, helping, and I am a very understanding person. I am also sociable so this job really fits what I want. This is what i want.
  • 4.2 Potential consequences of my lifestyle

My current lifestyle does not present a risk for any of the health conditions as I am not obese, I eat right regularly, Cancer does not run in my family, however the heavy smokers have died from it. It is less likely for me to get cardiovascular disease becasue I don't use tobacco, I don't have diabetes, high cholesterol, or high blood pressure. I stay fit by exercising, I eat right, and I do watch my weight so that would help prevent me from getting any of those in older adulthood.
  • 3.1 Oxidative Damage

    3.1 Oxidative Damage
This procedure is for the older people at the age of 65 or over. There will be no diets, no medicines, and the only procedure is that there will be a total replacement of radicals. As for the fruits that are to be eaten to help the body's forming system, the fruits are each to be eaten once a day, one fruit per day as they are rich in antioxidants. That way, no overdosing will be possiible, but just health. This is for 65 + older because that is when the cells in the body starts to break down.
  • 5.1 Working Memory

Processing speed tend to decline at the average age of fifty. This actually ranges between people and not everybody declines at the same age. However, this decline can greatly affect my ability to successfully complete IADL because at 50, you are still young, so for episodic memory, you forget how to do simple things in life such as using the phone, shopping, preparing food: somebody will have to take care of you because you are incapable of doing it yourself. This will affect problem-solving.
  • 9.1 Ego Integrity

Roa: Carl Scarna. He has looked back through time and wonder what it would have had been like if his father treated him differetnly, despite his disability which was deafness. Even though Carl has proven to his father that he can succeed, he never got his approval. He has dealt with his past and decided not to let it effect his future. He now has a wife, and two kids: they are all deaf, and he expects highly from them. His childhood affected the way he thinks and acts for himself and his family.
  • 1.1 The End

    1.1 The End
Brittany Frank (58) died on 8/9/2069 at Taupo, New Zealand while skydiving from 15,000 feet in the air. Her parachute did not go off. She was born in Boston, MA. to deaf parents, Dave and Audrey. She attended Gallaudet University, graduating in 2012 with Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She now has a husband, Andrew and three kids She worked as a Family and Marriage Therapist in Maryland for deaf clients. She loved traveling with her family and photography. She wants no mourning, but happiness.
  • 6.2 Older Adult Role Transition

Becoming a Grandparent: This is difficult to think about as I haven't become a mother yet. I hope I don't get into the issue of surrogate parenting becuase I hope my kids will take care of their own children. About 78% of middle-aged adults have at least one living parent, I hope my husband and I will both be alive for a long time. As the book stated, most are young grandparents who are still active, I will be one of them. I will have intimate roles with the granddaughters.
  • 5.2 Attention

Semantic memory can greatly affect attention span because you would not be able to really focus and understand the rules if they are instructed becuase you are not paying any attention. The age varies through time, some delines sooner than others. This can also affect your decision making because you can't focus on one thing and make a decision. This also applies to problem solving. However I dont think this will affect episodic memory because you are still able to remember what happened.
