Through the superior and inferior vena cava.
Vena Cava: the large veinous blood vessels which bring deoxygenated blood to the right atrium from all parts of the body. -
Atrium: 2 upper chambers are the left and right atrium.
-
Tricuspid Valve: positioned between right atrium and right ventricle. There are 3 points of attachment
-
Ventricle:lower 2 chambers of ther heart
Permit blood flow in 1 direction and close during contractions -
Pulmonary Semilunar Valve: found in the opening of the pulmonary artery. Allows bloo to travel from right ventricle to pulmonary artery .
-
Pulmonary Artery: takes blood away from the right ventricle to the lungs for oxygen
-
Blood receives oxygen
-
Pulmonary Veins: brings oxygenated blood from lungs to the right atrium
-
-
Bicuspid Valve: located between the left atrium and the left ventricle. Prevents backflow from left ventricle to the left atrium
-
-
Semilunar Veins: located at the orifice of the aorta. Valve permits the blood to pass from left ventricle to the aorta
-
Aorta: largest artery in the body. Takes blood away from the left ventricle to the rest of the body
