In the beginning
I was born in Des Moines, Iowa in 1982. Honestly, I don't remember this day at all so we will move on... -
Relocation
Due to my father's new job we moved from Des Moines to Chattanooga, TN. I would spend the rest of the childhood and early adulthood in Chattanooga. -
Graduated High School on to College
I graduated from Grace Academy in 2001. Since I grew up with an interest in technology I enrolled at Chattanooga State Community College. I thought I would be a computer programmer but life would take me down a different path. -
Starting my Career
In high school and the year following graduation I worked at Target. In 2002, I had the opportunity to start working as a professional at a fortune 250 company with an office in Chattanooga called Unum. I would continue to work towards my degree while at Unum. -
Marriage
On May 14th 2004 I married Jennifer. We met at Unum and quickly starting dating. We got engaged and then were married on the beach in Destin, Florida. -
What Changed My Career
This is the date our first child was born. The reason the is the most important date when considering my career is because having a child completely changed what I wanted to do for a career. It made me think about how my wife and I handled finances, what we needed to change and what we needed to do better. I became obsessed with ready personal finance books in preparation of having children and realized a career in personal finance was what I wanted to do. -
College Graduation
After changing majors and colleges from Information Technology to Business Management, I graduated with Honors from Bryan College. -
New Job At True North Custom
After a fulfilling 12 years at Unum, I had the opportunity to take a new position at a small marketing company call True North Custom. -
Completed Masters Program
Received my Masters in Personal Financial Planning from The University of Alabama
