1948 War
There was tension between Arabs and Jews. since the 1917 Balfour Declaration. On May 14 the ongoing civil war transformed into a state conflict between Israel and the Arab states. The combined Arab states took control of the Arab areas and immediately attacked Israeli forces and several Jewish settlements. There was 10 months of fightings separated by several truce periods. -
6 Day War
The war began on June 5 with Israel launching surprise strikes against Egyptian air-fields in response to the mobilisation of Egyptian forces on the Israeli border. The attack turned into a war in which Israel defeated the combined forces of Egypt, Dyria, Jordan, Ira and their supporters. -

Egyptian and Syrian forces launched a coordinated attacked against Israel on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. -
