1948 War
Israel declared independence. Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, & Iraq attacked Israel. Israel gained land. Egypt gained the Gaza Strip and Jordan gained the west Bank and East Jerusalem. Hudreds of thousands of Palestinians and Jews became refugees. -
Six Day War or The 1967 war
Egypt blockaded Israel. Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Iraq moved troops to Israel's borders and made threatening statements. Israel launched a preemptive strike. Israel captured the West Bank and East Jerusalem from Jordan, the Golan Heights from Syria, and the Gaza Strip and all of the Sinai Penisula from Egypt. More Palestinians and Jews become refugees. Terrorism became more common. -
Attrititon Battles
Israel gained land from Egypt, Jordan, and Syria. Jordan evicted the PLA from the country. PLO moved their base to Lebanon. -
Settlement Construction Begins
The israeli government approved the building of settlements in the Sinai, Gaza and West Bank. Palestinians travel to the West Bank is now more difficult. -
The October War or Yom Kippur War
Egypt and Syria attacked israel on the Jewish holy holiday, Yom Kippur. Israel regained territories captured in 1907 but did not keep extra land. -
Egypt and Israel Sign a Peace Agreement
Egypt Became the first Arab country to recognize israel and to enter into peace treaty. Became a model for israels "Land for Peace" policy. -
The 1982 Lebanon War
Lebanons attacks northern israel. Lebanon is supported by Iran and Syria. Consistant attacks from terrorists will eventually lead to the second lebanon war. -
The First Intifada
Palestinians in West Bank and Gaza Strip engaged in an intifada oman uprising against israeli controlled terrorists. Several hundreds of citizens killed was the signing of the Osto Accords. -
The Oslo Accords
Set of agreements when Israel and the PLO signed declaration of prinicples. In the end they turn on eachother and say the other did not fill their obligation. -
Israel and Jordan sign a Peace Treaty
Jordan became the other country to recognize israel and signed peace peace treaty. Business relations, trade, tourism have increased. -

U.S. President and leaders of Israel and Palestine try to negotiate an agreement. Peace has not been made so they still continue to fight. -
The Second Intifada
Visit of Israel general to the Jewish temple mount. Palestinians claimed the visit was proactive. Riots are still going on because peace has failed to arrive to the nations. -

Crown Princeproposed a peace intiative by all members of Arab league. Israel thought about peace proposal but did it to its demands. -

Israel builds barrier to be protected against terrorists. Palestinians bcome angreier and wall is criticized. -

A plan for peace comes up from the United Nations. The leaders meet together for first time to negotiate. -

Prime Minister went ahead with the disengagement of Israeli terrorists from Palestine. Rockets fired from gaza into Israel has vastly increased. -
Hamas is Elected
Hamas won elections and people are becoming suspicious. People will not agree until hamas lets Israel have right to exist. -
The 2006 Lebanon War
Terrorist group Hezbollah crossed the Lebanon border and attacked Israeli army. War ended in August 11, 2006 with cease fire resolution. -

Tension has risen between the PLO and Hamas. Hamas ontrols the West Bank. Hamas government is then dissolved. -
