I started playing field hockey in 5th grade to run off some of my excess energy.

I remember being very nervous to take the PSATs my sophomore year of high school; but I ended up doing very well! I even did better than most of my friends.

I received my driver's license after my first try! I lost all the possible "points" you were allowed, but still passed.

I graduated from Middletown High School in Frederick County, MD as a member of the National Honor Society. Our ceremony was at (what was then) Knott Arena at Mount St. Mary's.

I started my freshman year at Salisbury University in the Fall of 2001. I was still 17 at the time, and had to have my Dad cosign my Hollywood Video rental card. My major at the time was Chemistry.

I changed my major from Chemistry to Sociology after a few bad Calculus classes. I ended up majoring in Sociology the remainder of my time at SU, and loved every minute!

I graduated Salisbury University with my B.A. in Sociology with a Gender Studies minor. At the time, I wanted to teach Sexual Education and Gender Studies to high school or college students.

I started working for Barnes & Noble Booksellers in 2007, and didn't know what I was missing until I was there. I worked there for 6 years, and loved being able to recommend books to children and their parents. It was at this job that I met some of my greatest friends, and found my passion.

I met my husband while working at Barnes & Noble. I didn't know then how he would be in my life, just that he would be there forever. We have been together for 5 years now, and we were married this past Fall.
