1325 to 1645. Mali gathered the attention of europe in 1324 then gained its independence in 1325. It declined slowly as the population slowly shrank. it is located between the Kingdom of Kangaba and Tekrur

From the early 15th to the late 16th century, Songhai was one of the largest Islamic empires in history.In 1340, the Songhai took advantage of the Mali Empire's decline and successfully asserted its independence.

Yoruba

1400 to 1905 A.D. This empire is one of the greatest and oldest empires in west Africa and all its history has been passed now to us by non-natives of oyo. Having such great power the empire had a palace giving us a great idea about their architecture. including the great architecture they had miliary groups giving them an advantage to expand the kingdom.

Benin

The first people to live in Benin were the Edu people and they called the land Igodomigodo.It was not until 15th century during the reign of Oba Ewuare the Great that the city began to be known as Ubinu, which was a corruption of an earlier unofficial name by a tribe known as the the Edos.The Benin Empire was a pre-colonial African nation in what is now modern Nigeria.

Mutapa

1450 to 1629. Mutapa is located in the southern part of Africa near the Limpopo river. The Portuguese term Monomotapa is a transliteration of the title Mwenemutapa (Lord of the conquered land).However it came to be applied to the Kingdom as a whole, and was used to indicate its territory on maps of the period.

1512 to 1840. many people discovered the island and they built buildings and settle their and them made it a country. It didn’t have a war to help its decline it was just abandoned. it was wedged between the modern day Arabian peninsula and the Indian subcontinent.

10,000 B.C to 100 B.C.Ghana was an empire that had a very early recorded time of evidence of people on their land the first ever recorded place hman evidence was found at was the Oti River. also Ghana had evidence of early pottery making in the stone age. Ghana was located in the middle of six modern day countries. Those countries are Mauritania, Mali, Burkina Fasso, Ivory Coast, Guinea, and Senegal.

Great Zimbabwe

1000 A.D to 1400 . Had massive stone walls that spanned across almost 1,800 acres of land. it was constructed and expanded for almost 300 years. It is located in the present day country of Zimbabwe. At its height it had a population of more than 10,000 people.
