Became a counselor at Camp Bountiful
I have went to the church camp, Camp Bountiful my whole life. 2014 was the first summer I was on staff for a week there! I have now been on staff almost every summer for the Jr. and Jr. High camps. -
Reuniting in New York
One of my best friends in high school was a foreign exchange student. We kept in touch after she left as well. So her host family took me with them to surprise her while her and her mother were visiting NYC. -
Graduated High School
It was real, it was fun, but it wasn't real fun. :) -
Women's March
My mother, best friend, and I packed up for the weekend to travel to the Women's March on Washington. We actually took a charter bus that met up at Shawnee with other SSU students! -
Reuniting again, this time in Spain!
My foreign exchange student friend, Carolina, and I had kept in touch since 2015. I figured it was time to pay a visit to her hometown of Barcelona. So, I saved up my money and soon enough I was traveling half way across the world by myself! -
Paris
While I was in Barcelona, Carolina's parents paid for us to fly and spend a few days in Paris. It was absolutely beautiful. Only thing was that we showed up with with no warm clothes, it was raining, and was around 50 degrees. Also, neither one of us spoke any French. But it was amazing, nonetheless. -
Starting Sophomore Year
I got home from Barcelona on the 20th and we started school on the 21st. Did I mention they're 6 hours ahead in time? Talk about some major jet lag. -
Enrolled in EDRE 2204
Now here I am. I truly hope to learn even more about teaching children how to read. Literacy gave me a little bit of background knowledge, but it is exciting to know I can now use that knowledge to learn more!
