    7.2 Exosystem
My parents saw their friends children being very rude to adults and bossy to other child and they didn't want me to be like that. So from a young age they taught me to respect adults and be nice to other kids. If I did not do either I would get discaplined. It must have worked because my parents got many compliments on how well behaved their children were.

  • 7.1 Parental Strategies.

    7.1 Parental Strategies.
According to what my parents told me and what the text would say the stragies they used were the control theory and committed compliance. My parents set from the beginning that they were in charge. Therefore if I would do something wrong one of my parents would let me know about it and it would affect my behaivor. Also I was really attendive to my mom. When she would say to do something I would do it.

  • 4.1 Memory

The summer after my 2nd birthday I almost stepped on a snake going out of my house to play in my kiddie pool. Ever since I have hated snakes. I think the theory of my experience is the "life story" because I don't really remember it unitl I hear something about snakes or think about my kiddie pool.
  • 5.1 Kohlberg's & Gender

Parkers development according to Kohlbergs theory is at the stage of gender identity. This stage he states is usually between the ages two and three. I decided she was three because she didn't quite fully understand the difference of a boy and a girl, but she understood the difference of a man and lady. Therefore she is understanding the concept of gender identity.
  • 8.1 Children and Television

When I was young I would watch cartoons all the time. I never fully understood that ElmerFud really wanted to hurt bugs bunny until I was able to comprehend implicit content. I always understood the explicit content, I was able to understand the plot of the stories just not understand the characters motives.
  • 6.2 Self control

During the summer time I loved getting in the water. My mom told me not to get in the water and the second she took her eye off me I jumped in, I couldn't swim so my mom had to jump in after me fully dressed. I would say that my self control was very low. I remember after getting yelled at by my mom I started to use self control more often and had better delay-of-gratification. I also started to realize the longer I waited for something I wanted the better it was.
  • 6.1 Self Conscious Emotions

I was about 4 or 5 years old and my brothers were making fun of me. I got so mad that I hit them with a wiffle ball bat. Imediately after knew that I did something bad and felt ashamed and guilty. I hung my head and said sorry. My parents put me in timeout, usual I fuss, but this time I knew I did something wrong.
  • 2.2 Active Gene Environment Correlation

I spent countless hours outside with my brothers when I was growing up doing anything from playing sports to biking and roller skating.
  • 1.2 Theories

    1.2 Theories
This is me and my dad when I was 9 on top of Pikes peak. Brofenbrenner would say that this event shaped my life because the elements of the environment shape a childs development. He would say that their enviroment shapes my life and that I lean towards being nurture rather than nature. This is signficate because if he asked me to look back in my past and what major events shaped my life most would be events that were in a enviromental setting.
  • 2.3 Evocative Gene Environment Correlation

In first grade we were allowed to be in music or just have an off hour and study or do homework. My teacher noticed that I really liked little kids and I was good at math. She asked a first grade teacher if I could come be a tutor to the first graders.
  • 8.2 School TransitionsI

    8.2 School TransitionsI
I choose Middle School transition. My transition was more easy than they explained. My major difficultly was the transition of academics. Mine was different than the text because I didn't have low self esteem issues. I didn't care what people thought of me and I had two older brothers which made it easier for me to understand things, they paved the path for me.
  • 2.1 Passive Gene Environment Correlation

    2.1 Passive Gene Environment Correlation
There is 4 families in our group of friends and they all have around the same age of children. We go on family trips together and spend a lot of time together. We went to the lake and the adults had one boat the kids had the other. Our parents environment and group of friends was all of the kids friends also. All the kids get along just like our parents do.
  • 3.3 Imaginary Audience

    3.3 Imaginary Audience
In 8th grade I asked a question that made me sound dumb, I got blonde jokes thrown at me after. After that incedent I thought about my questions before I asked them so I would never sounds like a "Dumb blonde" again. It shows formal operations because I learned to think before I asked which is more logical, and my questions made more since because I thought about them and edited them before I asked them.

  • 7.3 Crowd and Cliques

    7.3 Crowd and Cliques
I played on a highly competitive softball team when I was around 14. I had a group of 4 or 5 girls on the team where we were always together. We ate at the same tables, hung out outside of softball together etc. My friends at school and I were a crowd. I was not rather close to them I just related with them well, they were the smart athletes. I rarely hung out with them outside of school.
  • 6.3 Moratorium

I was exploring my career options. I had it narrowed down to three different areas I wanted to major in going into college. I was testing the water in all three during my first semester.
  • 6.4 Achieved

Halfway through my first semester I decided what my career path was. I decided I needed to commit to it before the next semester. That day I went to declare my major. I explored and I was committed which brought me to the status category of achieved.
  • 2.4 APGAR

I evaluated Nicolai's APGAR as an 8 I gave him 2 for everthing but reflexes I gave him a 1. I saw that they took his temperature a couple times. and kept rechecking everything. I noticed that the put his head thing on many times maybe to keep is head warm. They did not cut it tube, but they put a clip on it.
  • 3.1 Preoperational Magnetism

To teach a Preoperational child about magnetism I would show them to magnets seperated. Than I will show how that cling together. I would than pull them apart again and show them how they cling together again. They will not be able to fully understand why but they will know that when those two are close they come together.
  • 3.2 Concrete Magnetism

    3.2 Concrete Magnetism
To teach a concrete operational child about magnetism I would use logic. I would tell him about positive and negatives and how oppisites attract etc. Since they are becoming logical thinkers they can ask questions until they fully understand how to magnetics attract

  • 4.2 First Word

My first two words were mommy and daddy. They were normal nominals. According to my parents I did not mistake anyone being my mommy or daddy. I only called them mommy and daddy. Therefore there was no overextension.
  • 5.2 Encouraging Gender Schemas

    5.2 Encouraging Gender Schemas
In preschool there was an area for girls to play dress-up with dresses, fun hats and high heels. There was a construction site that the boys played at. They were also on complete oppisite sides of the room. I think they did this to seperate the boys and the girls. I think it might have been more easy on the teachers if they genders were spread apart. Therefore they can teach boys how to hammer correctly and teach girls how to tie a bow right. http://www.earlyedcoverage.org/Preschool.JPG
  • 1.3 Methods

A Teachers could feel that the students do not understand when he or she is getting disaplined. The study would consist of different pitches and tones and seeing if they understand the differences in the pitches and tones. When people get angry or tring to disapline their tone of voice and pitch might change. Therefore this study can prove that children do understand when an adult is giving disapline.
