  • Birth

    Birth
It was a warm November morning in Ecuador but the hospital was cold at approximately eleven twenty seven a.m I was born weighing at 8 pounds lucky to be alive. My mother exhausted but through all that exhaustion she was excited and happy to have this miracle, me, after the death of her two unborn children. Though she had her brothers by her side she still felt someone's absence, my father. On this day he was here in the United States working, trying to provide for his growing family.
  • First Trip

    First Trip
A year goes by and it was time to finally meet my father. Crazy to think how my dad would have felt when all he could remember me as was the sound of my young voice through the phone for a whole year. I wonder how long it took me to finally call him dad. It was a long trip, 2 hrs to the airport in Quito, 13 hrs from Quito to JFK and to top that off another hour and 16 min. Sounds exhausting for a one year old but lucky for me I was sleeping the whole plane ride here.
  • Markel Park

    Markel Park
As a kid I've always been attracted to parks. I mean what kind of kid doesn't like parks? I was in kindergarten at the time and very active. The closest park next to me was Markel. In fact, markel was so close where i used to live, i would run there every day or at least try to, my grandma would snatch my hand even before i could take 3 steps. My favorite thing about the park had to be the castle with the huge yellow slide. This must have been everyone's favorite it was always packed with kids.
  • Soccer

    Soccer
Soccer has been a major part of my life. It helped me get out of my insecurities and shyness and taught me skills i never knew i had in me. I was 8 when i started playing soccer. i felt nervous on the first day of tryouts because all the kids had played indoor soccer and this was travel a higher level of difficulty, afraid I wasn't gonna make the team and afraid of what my parents were gonna say if i didn't. Luckily i did make the team and still friends with the kids that tryout that day.
  • Basketball Game

    Basketball Game
Going to the city in train for the first time felt forever! But i wasnt alone I went with my uncle and my cousin we were going to see the Knicks. It was early, sitting on the green blueish seats looking out as my eyes glaced at every building I saw. Finally stepping out of the train I felt small in this big city. As I walked into Madison Square Garden not knowing how big it was and how cramped it felt I just couldn't take my eye off of my uncle or else I would be lost, alone, scared.
  • Jail

    Jail
This was a scary moment in my life. I can remember it so vividly i was angry sad and frustrated i just couldn't imagine what was happening. It was 5am on a school day i was in 8th grade at the time. We were awakened by a huge bang on our front door which terrified us all. I looked outside the window to see 5 police cars parked in front of my house. The cops searched everything! My parents were pail terrified watching their son being taken away by these men in uniform.
  • First day of High School

    First day of High School
Walking in knowing it was a maze. While everyone was telling me it was just as simple as a square. As I kept walking through the hallways seeing somewhat new faces, I eagerly raced to my locker which I've already known where it was because of freshman orientation. Which didnt help at all because I was still confused on how this school can big a huge square. It came to the last period one of my favorite classes ever. I had Spanish, it was always one of the best ways to end the day.
  • Ecuador

    Ecuador
I'm proud to be Ecuadorian. Come from a place where everyone is friendly and known for its tourism. It's a good feeling traveling to Ecuador getting to see my friends and family once again. One of my favorite things to do is definitely going on late night bike rides with my friends. Sharing past memories with one another after not being able to for the past year. Exchanging laughs. Another one of my favorite things has to be the Ecuadorian dishes my grandma makes.
  • Lake Compounce

    Lake Compounce
It was planned out for about a week. My friend Deny and I were excited to finally do something fun this summer. We were tired and bored of the same town so we decided to go to Lake Compounce. This was all Deny's plan, he was anxious to finally be able to drive his new car. As we arrived it was 10 o'clock still early, speed walking to the entrance trying to avoid the harsh lines. As we rushed to our favorite ride from past experience we came to realize that it was closed but in the end we had fun
  • Licensed

    Licensed
It was August 3rd I felt nervous and anxious to finally be able to take my road test. Chose the nearest place possible to take this test. It was Carmel but after what I've heard from my friends Carmel was really difficult to pass. Feeling a bit sketched out and worried because I haven't practiced parallel parking but after watching 2 videos on YouTube there was confidence. Put the car in drive with my shaky hands and then reverse turning the wheel twice and back again to the left. Did I pass no.
