Adulthood PSY

  • 1.1 The Beginning

My sister's wedding. I realized I am on my own and need to focus on my own future. About to be 23 years old, which is still young in years but paying my own rent, bills, and making my own life, away from home makes me socially an adult. Biologically, I am an adult due to the bodily changes, beside the kids part, which I dont have yet. Psychologically, I have a long way to go. I am still a baby.
  • 2.1 Oxidative Damage

Effective ASAP: Since fruits and veggies are so rich in antioxidants, everyone should become a vegitarian and we would have limited amounts of other foods that contain protieins and other nutirients we need. Supply just as much as the body needs, but have an abundance of fruits and veggies. This will also reduce the amount of trash and pollution we put out into the air. No processed foods or anything so less factories as well. win-win for humans and mother nature.
  • 2.2 Genetic Limits

Effective at birth: Since telomere lengths seem to be longer in younger ages and shorten as we get older and even more so when we undergo specific health issues, stress, and other things. Maybe if in a perfect world we increase the amount of time per day spent outdoors in the newly fresh and clean air made in 2.1 post and moving around more than time spent inside working or in school. Less work/school= less stress. More lesiure and exercise= longer telomere lengths=healthy long lives.
  • 2.3- My Current Healthy Lifestyle

    2.3- My Current Healthy Lifestyle
Currently, My lifestyle is not so healthy. For me, with summer and traveling more it is harder to keep up with exercise and dieting. I LOVE food, I usually work out to cancel out the food I eat but lately I have not had the time to do so. Also with it being summer, I love to tan but I NEVER use sunscreen (EW). :( I have burned pretty bad a few times already which puts me at high risk for skin cancer. I won't say I drink too much, I dont, but more in the summer time than the rest of the year.
  • 3.2 "Prospective Memory"

I will be 38 years old. I believe my prospective memory is already bad, so by this age im sure it will be declining even more. :( I have a hard time recalling what I need to do. Keeping up with different schedules and deadlines.. so this age, when my kids are a little older they will probably be reminding me a lot. Ill have to keep notes and a calendar for reminders.
  • 2.4 Potential Consequences of my lifestyle.

Wow. 2042...At 50 years old I pray to not be struggling with menopause as severely as my 50 year old mother is right now. I am at risk for most of the issues mentioned. My family has a huge history of cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, and obesity. If I continue the lifestyle I have been living these last two weeks, I will definetly end up with all of the above. But, I know this and take measure to prevent it or prolong it. I have seen doctors and know I am at high risk already. Up to me.
  • 3.1 "Working Memory"

At this time I will be 53 years old. I will not be able to do as many tasks at once. I will be done with raising kids by then so my mind wont be as sharp. Short term memory will not be as in tact, but my semantic, episodic and declarative will still all be just fine. What decreases most is just the primary memory. If I am on medications, remembering to take them could possibly be affected.
