Tecumseh Allies with British
Tecumseh was a native American warrior and activist who encouraged tribes to unite against America. The battle at Tippecanoe and the subsequent defeat of the Natives by the Americans led Tecumseh to ally with the British forces. -

Tecumseh's death
Moraviantown was a major battle where the British and native tribes teamed up against General Willam Henery Harrison. Both the British and the natives suffered heavy losses including Tehcumsuh. This was later used as a reason to vote for William Henry Harrison when he ran for president. -

The Star-Spangled Banner was written by Francis Scott Key as he observed the British attack on Fort McHenry. This poem would go on to become the country's national anthem. -
Hartford Convention
A secret meeting of Federalist delegates was held in opposition to Madison's presidency and his war. This meeting was entirely unsuccessful as by the time they were ready to meet with the president the war was over. This event was a major embarrassment for the Federalist Party and led to their eventual disbanding of the party. -
Treaty of ghent
The Treaty of Ghent was signed on December 24, 1814, and marked the end of the war as it was the treaty that confirmed peace between the US and Britain. Unfortunately, news of it being signed was not received until after several thousands more soldiers had already died. -
Battle of new orleans
The battle of New Orleans was the final battle of the War of 1812 and was a decisive American victory as the British suffered almost 2,000 losses including British general Edward Packenham. The US in contrast lost 71 soldiers.
