    Hull's Proclamation
    General WIlliam Hull issued a proclamation to the residents of upper Canada trying to get them to fight with the United States aganist Britain. It backfired and he ended up giving Detriot to the British on August 16, 1812. Image from:

  • Siege of Detriot

    Siege of Detriot
    troops led by General Hull crossed from Fort Detriot into Canada and demanded a surrender from the British. Sir Isaac Brock who was the British Commander in Canada led his troops to victory when he became allies with the Native Americans and their chief Tecumseh, Hull surrendered. Image from:

    A Canadian women whose husband, James Secord, was wounded in battle. She overheard a converstation which was about the American suorise attacking the British at Beaver dam. She walked for 20 miles around the troops to deliver the message and warn the British.

    The British abandoned Detroit and went into Canada with cheif Tecumseh along with 600 Native American warriors.British General Henry Procter and his troops were driven out by American commander William Henry Harrison the Natives tried to stay in fight but chief Tecumseh lost his life. This was a victory for America.
