    The British and the Native Americans tried to pull back from the Detroit area but Harrison cut them off and Tecumseh was killed.

    In the other war that Great Britain was involved had finished with a British victory, allowing British forces to come to the US.

  • Attack on Washington D.C.

    The British attacked and burned the White House and the Capital building.

  • Attacks on Baltimore

    British move up from Washington D.C. to Baltimore. In the morning, Francis Scott Key was so moved by the sight of the American flag flying, he wrote a poem which later became our national anthem.

    British advance to New Orleans where Andrew Jackson and his soldiers were waiting. The US came out with the decisive victory.
