    General Hull issued a proclaimation to the citizans of Upper Canada to take arms alongside Americans. Unfortunatly, it back fired and he was forced to surrender Detroit to Sir Isaac Brock, an Upper Canadian commander.

    Detroit was taken after Hull's proclaimation when Commander Sir Isaac Brock allied with Native American forces and their leader, Tecumseh. Even though Hull's army still outnumber his opposition's, he surrendered quickly, panicking at the thought of hundreds of angry Indians, Canadians, and a trainded British army.

    Durring the Battle of Raisin River, Laura Secord's husband, James Secord, was injured in battle.He was fighting for America, and after the battle had ended, Laura stuck aroound to tend to his wounds. On June 21, 1813 she overheard some American soldiers talking about a plan to defeat the British at Niagra. She took this information and walked about 20 miles around the American soldiers to tell the Canadians what was going to happen. Ever since she has been held as a heroine by the Canadians.

    Also called the Battle of the Thames. It was a quick US victory that gained us back Detroit. Durring the battle, Indian leader Techumseh, who led 600 men to the battle opposing the Americans, died on the battle feild.

    An American attempt to invade Canada that fell at the hands of British Lt. Colonel Charles de Salaberry leading a mix of British regulars, American Indians, and militia. He was a French-Canadian man who came to lead parts of the British Army.

    Battle of Horseshoe Bend
    Andrew Johnson led American soldiers, and American Indian allies, the Cherokee and Lower creek Indians. They went around the bend of the Tallapoosa River to fight against the Reed Skins, who were acting under the orders of Tecumseh, led by respected war leader Menewa. It was a victory for the Americans.
