  • Born Day!

    No words yet...
  • First words!

My first two words were "Momma" and "Dada". I was able to distinguish between who was my mom and my dad. Though whenever my mom (this was recorded on home videos) asked me to say "momma" i would say "dada". I would laugh after. She said that she knew that I understand between the two words and enjoyed joking around with her.
  • "Are You My Mother?"

I remember every night right before I went to bed, I would read "Are You My Mother?" to my mom. It was our nightly routine. This night was special because it was the first time I was able to read the whole book by myself without my mom's help. I remember when I finished reading the book, I turned to my mom and said "MOMMY! I DID IT!". This was my favorite book at the time because of the accomplishment I achieved and who I shared it with.
  • The

It was first grade in Mrs. Robinson's class. She was the strictest teachere there and with my luck I had her. We were learning how to write sentences. Mrs. Robinson was at the overhead projector showing us how to write the word :"the". She had the lines on the sheet and was writing perfectly in between them. I looked down at my journal and began. I remember writing the "t" first, followed by the "h". But mine was not as thicks as hers, so I continued to go over it until I tore the paper.
  • GT

The day I found out that my reading and writing had placed me as Gifted and Talented. This meant that I was above average for reading and writing; along with I could take GT classes starting in 4th grade. The fact that I was able to pass the test to be placed at GT was a major accomplishment for me as an Elementary Schooler.
  • Harry Potter Evanesco

Now, I was an avid Harry Potter fan. I read the first two books and was hooked. Though mainly when I look back I believed I was hooked because my mom made me read them. So when the third book came out, I was intrigued but the size of it got the best of me. I believe I only made it to the fourth chapter before I gave up. It proved to me that it was far greater than I thought. I was defeated and that is when Harry Potter Books left my life.
  • Class Essay

It was in Mr. Ellis' 8th grade Honors English class that we were learning on how to write letters of persuasion. My topic was to persuade others to remain close to their family. I wrote an essay about my aunt who was battling a brain tumor and how it brought the family together. The amount of ethos present in my essay brought my whole class to tears.
  • Please come see me!

It was 10th grade English in Mr. DeGroff's class when I was told my writing was horrible. It is a memory that has stuck with me until this day. At time that, all of my English teachers told me my writing was superb and I was recognized through getting the Principal's writing award.I went up for a peer edit with my teacher, my world was crushed. He told me I was wordy (still to this day I am) but my overall topic was great. I never left a teacher's desk with so much red on my paper.
  • Annotate!

O remember learning how to annotate a text since the first day of AP Lang with Mrs. Kimber. Now this might of been the hardest English device I have ever learned because it took me a good long few months to get it down. I finially got it down around this time. We read a text and were to annotate it for a quiz. I turned in my sheet and immediately got it back with a big smiley face on it. I finally understood the concept of annotations.
  • Praxis I

The day I took the Praxis I, there was an essay section in which I had to take a text and relate it to questions and my own personal experience. I remember while typiing up the essay I felt confident about my response. I had the right experience as a long term sub to answer it and my own experiences were great examples to support my claims. I never doubted I would not ace that section!
  • JHU Admission Essay

The day I turned in my admission essays to the Johns Hokpins University School of Education. The essay that I wrote camee true from my heart and have other ppl proofread left me vulnerable to them knowing why I want to become a teacher. They were able to read about my experiences, both positive and negatie that contributes to my drive to be a special education teacher.
