The revolutionary war was a very big milestone in american history because it was the first time we really joined together, to become our own country.

With the louisiana purchase we gained a lot of new land but nobody reallly knew the actual borders, I think if there would have been a set border from the begining we might not have as big of a problem with illegal immigrants today.

The civil war was really the first time our country had ever gotten into a fight with its self and some states even broke off from the united states to form what they hoped would be a new country.

World War 2 was in my opinion one of the worst times in history. Innocent people were being killed without a justified reason. When the U.S. got involved it changed our country and we made new allies, and it really opened our eyes to how much damage one person with too much power can do.

The cold war had a major effect on life today because it changed the way we dealt with other countrys and how we resolved problems over seas. Also many new bombs were invented during this time and so was sputnik so from the cold war... let the space race begin.

Without the space race nobody would have really cared about space and would have been fine believing the moon was a big ball of cheese. But we wanted to beat Russia so we tried our hardest and eventually realized that space is actually kinda interesting and worth studying.
