Richard III, the uncle of King Edward V, usurps the throne by having the marriage of Edward IV and Elizabeth Woodville declared invalid, thus making their children illegitimate. Edward V and his brother, Richard, are takien to the Tower of London and never seen again, earning the nickname of the "Princes in the Tower."

Richard III is killed on the battlefield and Henry Tudor, the heir to the Lancastrian dynasty, becomes King of England. This brings an end to the War of the Roses. It is also considered to be the end of the Middle Ages in England.

Henry VII, formerly Henry Tudor, marries Elizabeth of York, the daughter of Edward IV, uniting the Lancastrian and Yorkist sides of the Plantagenet Dynasty. This also marks the end of the Plantagenet Dynasty and the beginning of the Tudor Dynasty.
