    A group of Federalists met in Hartford,Connecticut. Some delagets suggested for New England to withdraw from the U.S. With the war being over, and a treaty in progress, the suggestion was soon denied and the meeting quickly ended.

    Peace talks began in Ghent, Belgium. On Christmas eve of 1814, the two sides signed the Treaty of Ghent, ending the war.
