Britan Blockades American Ports
In the first couple of days of the war, Britan set up a blockade of ships to block Amercan ports. by 1814 they had 135 warships blocking the ports. With reinforcements, by wars end, they had all ports closed off. -

American general William Hull went to attack Canada, but retreated from lack of soilders. Brotihsh general Isaac Brook took adavatage of this. They took more than 2,000 soilders and was a serious loss for the U.S. -
USS Constitution Scores a Victory
In a major sea battle, the USS Constitution defeated a British warship called the Guerriere. The battle was feirce. After the battle the ship was named "Old Iron Sides" because the British weapons seemed to bounce off the sides of the ship. -

Britan was tired of war, so they started talking peaceful. so they signed a treaty with the U.S. the news took several weeks to get back to America, but everything went back to the way it was before war. -

Beacuse the treaty took so long to reach america, there was one last battle called the Battle of New Orleans. General Andrew Jackson fought for America. They won a stunning victory against the British.
