    American Oliver Hazard Perrry, had no fleet, so he designed and built his own ships. He sent out on the 1st of September with a very small fleet going up against the British. The British left Olivers ships battered and helpless, until Perry took down the American flag, rowed to another American ship and raised the flag on that ship. After doing that many times the Americans finally won the Battle.
