Creek awrriors attacked sevral southern American settelmants. Then Andrew Jackson took command and defeated the Creeks. -

British Forces Marched into the capital city. The British burne ddown sevral government buildings including the White House. Americans were shoked that the army couldn't defend the capital. -
Attack on Baltimore
Britains first objective was Fort McHenery. British warships atttack the fort but didnt lose. Francis saw the American flag still stading. -
Writing of Star Spangled Banner
Francis wrote a poem about the Battle of Baltimore on an old envelope. The poem became popular and became music. In 1931 Congress made it the national anthem the United States. -
Hartford Convention
A group of Federalists met. Some delegates thought that the New England states secede from the United States. With the war over the convention ended quickly. -
Treaty of Ghent
Britain got tired of the war.The two sides signed a treaty which ended the war.Everything got back to normal later. -
Battle of New Orleans
News about the treaty took sevral weeks to spraed fully. Andrew Jackson fought the last war and won.
