    Plant Growth Timeline

    This will be the timeline of the plants we planted in our classroom. We will watch our plant grow from now until the lat day of school. Every week we will plot a point on our time line to show how our plants have grown.

    Plant the Seed
    Today, as a class we planted a dandelion seeds. We all had a small pot, this is the most important point on the time line because, this is the day the plant would start to grow!

    April 17, we examined our plants to see if any one saw any growth. All of the students in the class said that their plants haven't grown yet. I explained to the students that just like you, the plants don't grown over night it takes time, food and sunlight!

    Today, A few of our students noticed that their plants are starting to grow. Before we planted our plants we learned the plant parts, and the students watch their plants growth they will see the plant develop into the parts that we learned about. Today I asked the few students that had growth, "what part of the plant do you think this will be?"

    Today, the class noticed that everyone's plant has grown. Everyone is the class is able to see a the stem and a leave or two on their plant.

    While we are continuing to watch our flowers grow some of our students were getting frustrated because they are ready to see a flower on their plant. I was still telling the students that growing a flower takes time. Today we spent time counting our leaves and measuring the stem of out plants.

    From lat week to this wee there wasn't much change. No student had a flower yet. So we all measured the stems again and we compared them to our measurements next week saw how much our plants grew-over the lat week. After some time of observing a couple of our students did see a small blossom and asked what it was.we spent some time learning about blossoms that day.

    Everyone in the class is getting very excited because we are all starting to see small flowers or blooms.

    TODAY, is the last day of school, and everyone has a dandelion flower! we are so excited. We spent time counting our flower petals and looking at everyones flower to note the similarites and differences.
