Max is born
On April 5, 1993 I was brought into this world just south of Chicago in Oak Lawn, Illinois. I joined my sister (pictured) and loving parents in the Lapthorne family. To this day I consider my family to be my best friends in the world. -
Max becomes a spartan
While shopping during a family trip to Florida I told my dad I wanted a Michigan State hat. It soon became my favorite hat and sparked my love for the Spartans. Although I didn't officially become a Spartan until eight years later, that trip was the start of my obsession with Michigan State. -
First Job
My first job was working in the concession stand at my local waterpark. It wasn't the most glorious job but it taught me a lot about work ethic and independence. This was the first step in my growth into the adult I am today. -
High school baseball career ends
Sports have been my life for as long as I can remember. I've dabbled in playing other sports but baseball has always been my passion. My competitive baseball career ending was tough, but it also inspired me to pursue a career in sports journalism so I can have sports in my life forever. -
First day at Michigan State
Going away to Michigan State was an extremely exciting and scary experience for me because I did not know anyone at MSU. Leaving behind everyone I knew and loved was a tough decision, but one that I am glad I made because of all the new people I have met here.
