    The King, Louis XVI was not happy with the common people and therefore locked them out of the meeting hall. They went to his indoor tennis court and declared that they would wait there until a written constitution was agreed on because they believed that France should change from a absolute monarchy to a constituional monarchy. This declaration was the Tennis Court Oath.

    Edmond's Marriage is Interupted....Forever
    At Edmond Dante's bethronal feast, he is arrested for no apperant reason. Being young and happy, he does not think o it as a big deal. Of course, after he is thrown into Chateau d'If by Monsieur de Villefort, it is apperant that something has gone wrong. He has been falsely accused...and therefore, he is in prison.

    After fourteen long years of imprisonment, Edmond Dantes finally escapes from his prison. After his friend, Abbe Faria, dies, Dantes takes the place of the corpse and is thrown into the sea. He then joins a band of smuggler sailors and sails with them for a while.

After recieving a warning letter from an unknown person, the Count watched as Caderousse broke into his house to steal money. Upon going outside again, a certain person, Beneditto (Prince Calvalcanti) stabs him. Caderousse lives only long enough to discover that the Count is Dantes before he repents and dies.

Shortly after he is accused of this, Albert and Marcedes, his son and wife, run from home. His honor tossed in the trash and his family gone from him, Fernad commits suicide.

    Villefort, who sent Dantes to prison 23 years ago, is discovered as being the father of of Prince Calvalcanti, Beneditto, meaning that he had an affair with Madame Danglars. He goes mad and runs home, where he finds his wife dead, along with their young son. He had told her to kill herself, which she did, but not alone, for "a good mother does not leave without her son." The Count of Monte Cristo comes in and sees that his revenge has come too far and he is not much better than the other men
  • Revenge on the Banker

    Revenge on the Banker
    Danglars, who, all those years ago, wanted to become captain of the Phareaon and thought of the plan to accuse Dantes, is captured by Italian bandits, friends of the Count of Monte Cristo. He is forced to pay 5 million francs that he owes to a hospital before the Count of Monte Cristo reveals to him as Edmond Dantes. Danglars is then set free after repenting to the Count.

    And They Sailed into the Rising Sun....
    The story ends at the island of Monte Cristo. Maximilien, an old friend of the Count, is united with the love of his life, Valentine Danglars. The Count, Edmond Dantes, realizes that he has found love again with his Greek servant, Haidee, and together they sail off into the sea..... As for if anyone sees them again, the book says, "Wait and hope."
