Went to School of Science
There was a test given to see if you qualified to go to the School of Science. At Science we had all races equally, we were the first school to have a computer lab, and went to colleges all the time and work in labs. Went to Dr. Fissel class in the 7th grade that taught me to think out the box. -
My Daddy died
At his funeral thousands of people came and they had to close off St. Claire. I was thinking my Daddy was just a city worker but had help so many people. I wanted to serve others just like him every since that day, helping others become successful. He and my mother were pastors and went to prisons to minister every week for 30 plus years. -

Christian Family Outreach
I worked at at Summer Camp this was one of my favorite jobs helping kids find direction in life. Just letting them know I cared. This is when I realize some kids are not ready to learn they just need someone to love on them. -
U.S. Army
Thorndike believed in a scientific control. This is not all bad in the Army it was this kind of environment it gave me structure and discipline. It was like bloom's taxonomy you can build anything off of a solid foundation. -
Join the Word Church
At the Word Church it is inspiring to see a young black man from the inner city projects become so successful while liberating his people for God. It showed me that I could be myself as a black man and still go places in life. -
Started at JCU
I saw on the educational floor the Jeusit Circle with the person at the center. I also love the John Carroll because I saw that Jesus was an important figure in every part of the school. -
ED 420 Motor Development
PIAGET'S COGNITIVE STAGES shows me that not everyone will be able to go into higher order thinking on every subject. -
Participatory Culture
When students are made to do something they will just comply. However when they are involve with the decision making process they become more personally involved. Like Jenkins said it becomes a Participatory culture. -
Education to Foundation
Violence and racism are a basic part of American social and school history. From colonial times to TODAY, educators have preached equality of opportunity and good citizenship while engaging in acts of religious intolerance, racial segregation, cultural genocide, and discrinination against immigrants and nonwhites (Spring,J, 2008). I WILL NOT SUPPORT THIS INSTITUTION! The school system is still set up to train others to make those in power richers just like slavery. -
Education to Foundation
John Dewey methods focused on student interest, student activity, group work, and cooperation using the idea of learning in a community (Spring,J, 2008). -
Pragmatism
Pragmatism means that humans should adopt those ideas, values, and institutions that best work in a particular social situation (Spring,J, 2008). This concepts helps me gain a balance as a black man in education because it says use what is most efficient for a situation in order to be productive in a community. I can not just attempt to make my voice heard without also listen to others.
