I was born in Publacion, Ilo-ilo Philippines in the home where my mother grew up.

-
The ceremony of my baptism where my big family gathered to celebrate.
-
My first word was "Nana" after my grandma. She was called "Nanay" by all my family which is Tagalog for "Mother". She spent the most time with me as my mom worked to support us as a single mom and was going to college also.
-
I started to run.
-
I was big enough for my mom to leave me at a day care. The lady's name was Elena and I remember looking up to her. She cared for my sister and I for free because my mom was one of her best friends.
-
I finally started pre school. I stayed at the day care because Elena teached pre school, too. I remember playing at the colorful playground and singing songs on rainy days.
-
My mom met a guy on the internet in the midst of studying for school. His name was Robert Bottrell. He lived in Grand Rapids, MI USA. He was an 18 hour flight away. They kept in touch for two years.
-
I didn't understand at the time, but after a year, my mom's new boyfriend visited our home in the Philippines. He brought lots of chocolate and toys and that was all I really cared about.
-
I moved from the Philippines to the USA. Some kids think moving schools is a big deal-- I moved countries. That summer, I met the Bottrell Family.
-
I found out I was going to be a big sister
-
One year later, I went back to the Phiippines for two weeks to visit.
